Book Week Scotland
November 27, 2017 – December 3, 2017
,
In partnership with Scottish Book Trust, Scottish Union Learning will work with unions to celebrate books and reading during Book Week Scotland.
The theme for Book Week Scotland in 2017 is ‘Nourish’ and is spread across four key strands:
- Justice and Sustainability – equality of access to food and culture, and how food and culture is produced
- Breaking Bread – sharing culture, identities and traditions, international travel, communities, faith and food, and making connections using food and stories
- Nourishing Ourselves – health and wellbeing, books as sources of mental, spiritual and emotional nourishment, different types of reading for different appetites
- Feast – celebration, abundance and something for everyone
Through a programme of workplace events, Scottish Union Learning and Scottish Book Trust will support CWU, NUJ, RMT, Unite and USDAW to deliver nourishment themed book reading, writing and promotional activities during the Week.
